My name is Doug Edwards. I was born in Erie, Pennsylvania and I've lived in Phoenix, Arizona for nearly 60 years. I've been a photography enthusiast since I was 17 years old. At that time, I was a proud owner of a Nikon film camera, handed to me by my father after his flight home from Japan. Needless to say, I was ecstatic! I enrolled in my one-and-only photography course at a local community college and I've had a passion for photography ever since. I eventually upgraded from using a film camera and a darkroom, to using a digital camera and a laptop to create some compelling photographs.

Every photographer has had countless photographic failures and I'm no exception. Over time though, I realized that my photographs improved the more often I had my camera with me, took more photographs and spent more time creating the final image. Soon, things began to change. I started to see the world differently and began noticing nearly everything around me...the shapes, the colors, the textures and patterns. I realized those attributes are all around me every day if I just pay attention to them.

Over the years, I've seen thousands of images taken by some incredible photographers and I've always been inspired by a photograph that combines technical skill and artistic creativity. My desire is to marry both of those characteristics into one, single image. Images that capture enough light to affect the mood, have the right composition to draw in the viewer's interest and have colors that make it vibrant and bold.

I hope you'll have the same experience as you scroll through my work.
